Happy Easter

So Keira's been in New York since last Thursday and she will be there until this Sunday. SOoo... I went to visit her this weekend. I've missed her soo much! I don't care what ANYONE says, this isn't a break! I miss by baby girl! She misses me also! When she first saw me she curled up her botton lip and layed her head on my shoulder! Then she picked her head up, looked at me, and layed it back down! She did that like 5 or 6 times before she smiled at me! Never again will she be gone this long. At least not until she's 18 months or more! By the way, as of today she's 7 months 5 months corrected. Enjoy her Easter pics!

So Keira has a dancing doll by the name of Brobee! He is from the infamous Nick Jr. show "Yo Gabba Gabba! When I first saw this doll I thought she would be terrorfied! But when she layed her eyes on him she fell in love! Any I recorded a video of Keira dancing with her bestest buddy... Brobee!

Been Too Long!

So about a month and a half has passed since my last post. It has been super hard for me to keep this up because I lost my computer at home and finally just bought one! Keira is now 7 months and 5 months corrected. She started eating solids last month and is now TEARING IT UP! She enjoys her Gerber food way more than her formula. She also likes adult food. So beware when eating next to her because her little lips will begin to salivate and she will whimper! If you ignore her she will reach for your plate, cup, fork, whatever she can get her hands on! Her last doctor's appointment weighed her at 14 lbs 12 oz so by now she's 15 lbs. My Chunky Monkey or Fatty Patty lol. She is on track with her corrected milestones including sitting while supported, holding her own head. raching for items, and laughing/giggling. She has become so much fun and is a joy to be around! Our favorite thing to do is tell her "Good Morning" in a high pitched voice! As she is stretching from her 8 hour sleep (YES! SHE SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!) she gives us the biggest smile ever! We're so in love with this little girl! Kimani and I wouldn't ask for anything else in the world!

Keira's Doing Stuff!

So Keira is now 5 months old 3 months corrected. She's acting pretty much like a 3-4 month old. She tries to sit up when lying down, she's drooling a lot and licking her gums, and even giggles! She's coming into her own little personality. She also seems like she loves attention. Can't talk much now but I'll update you with more later!! Enjoy pictures!

Merry 1st Christmas!!!

So Keira's first Christmas was a success and we're so happy! Everyone said that this is the best Christmas because she can't ask for what she wants. SO we took it upon ourselves to buy her gifts anyway! Keira received a Build-A-Bear bunny from Kimani and I, a set of earrings that went along with her peirced ears, an outfit from her mother-in-love, which is my friend who also had a baby boy (Jace) due in October, and a sleeper one piece. Pretty simple for her first Christmas right? Well enjoy the pictures below!

How to Build-A-Bear!

Well as I said in my previous post, Kimani and I built a bear (bunny) for Keira. Well we took pictures to illustrate our task! Enjoy!

Keira's First Christmas

So yesterday we took Keira on her first annual Christmas outing. First we went to Build-a-Bear and Kimani and I worked on building Keira's bear. We decided that this would be an annual thing we do. We picked out a bunny rabbit and named her Hunny Bunny. We can't wait until she's old enough to pick out her own bear and clothes but I secretly LOVED doing it lol. So much so that DH wants to get one for me! Ha ha.

Then we went to visit Santa. He had just got back from lunch so the line wasn't too long. We ended up waiting for him on line for about 45 minutes. Enough time to feed cranky Keira and burp her. So when it was our turn I handed my baby to this infamous man that all the children know and love. I was a little afraid... Why you might ask? Because this is the first time that I've ever met Santa! Up close a personal! I don't think I was really afraid, just anxious and giddy... corny right? Well Keira didn't even notice who was holding her. She just sat on his lap and looked at the people passing by in the mall. The elf photographer and I tried to get her attention and she looked at us like we were crazy. Then out of no where she smiled a HUGE smile! It was so surprising that the other parents on line even giggled and smiled! I glanced at the picture so quick and approved it that I didn't even notice that she had her eyes closed! Lol. Oh well, it just showed how thrilled she was to see Santa.

Then before we ended our mall visit Ms. Keira Lynn got her ears pierced. We weren't planning on it, but Kimani mentioned getting her earring for Christmas and I said why not get her ears peirced. She just got her 4 month shots. So we went to Piercing Pagoda and I asked TONS of questions (even though I knew all the answers). After we picked out her earrings and paid, the lady marked Keira's ears for placement and once we approved she went to pierce. After the first shot (I guess that's what you call it) Keira cried like she was startled. Then she stopped. Then the lady pierced her second ear. She cried a bit more and wimpered until Kimani picked her up and consoled her. By the time I got up from the seat Keira was fast asleep. I think the piercing upset me more than it did her! She cried more when she got her shots!

12 week old Keira

So it has taken me 12 weeks to KIND OF gotten into the groove enough to blog about baby girl. She went to the doctor 2 weeks ago and she weighed in at 7 lbs and 5 oz. So I'm guessing she's just about 8 lbs now. She's still eating every 3 hours and she's NOT sleeping though the night. Not yet anyway. She's on formula and breast milk. My supply went down so its not enough to feed her on an all day supply but I give her what I can. Its hard to keep up the supply since I've gone back to work. Pumping every 2 hours when you're at work isn't very easy to do. Especially when you get busy and the time escapes from you. Keira stared tummy time and is doing so well! She's trying to lift her head and focuses on people. Remember that even though she's 12 weeks, her corrected age is 2 weeks so she should be behaving like a 2 week old. I will post pictures of her doing her tummy time. While DH & I are at work my mom has been with baby girl from Monday - Friday. She travels back to NY on the weekend at my expense. We're very blessed to have her retire to take care of Keira. I couldn't imagine her at a day care! Anyway, I gotta run. I'll update you some more later!

Baby Girl's One Month Update!

Well Keira is a few days shy of being one month old! She's doing great! The Nurses all say that she's their star preemie and doing very well! As of today Keira is 3 lbs 15 oz. By tomorrow she will be 4 lbs! She's also taking 6-8 bottles a day so her feeding tube will be exiting her nostril very soon! The very best news... Baby girl should be coming home by the end of the week! I'm so happy and excited! I can't wait for her to be with me in my arms 24 hours a day with no wires or anything! 2 Week 2 Day Update

So Keira has been doing very well since the last week. She now weighs 3 lbs 7 oz and is drinking 1 oz of milk every 3 hours. The NP told me that Keira will be moving to an open crib in a day or two! Right now she's in an incubator so that's wonderful news! Keira has started bottle feeding twice a day and breast feeding once a day. She's not that interested in the breast sometimes so at times I have to use a nipple shield. I hope she gets a liking to it because that's a great bonding experience for us. Another great bonding experience is Kangaroo Care. That means Keira and her dad or I have skin to skin bonding. This helps Keira keep warm, relax, enhance brain development, and helps mom (me!)produce more breast milk (not that I need any more!) I've been filling up two to three storage bottles every 2 hours that I pump. The NICU knows me as the mom with a lot of milk! Lol. All for my baby girl! Breast milk is better for babies and even better for preemies. Well that's all I have for now. I will leave you with a picture of Keira and dad doing Kangaroo Care.

How Preemie Moms Are Chosen

Somehow, I visualize God hovering over Earth,
selecting his instruments for propagation
with great care and deliberation.
As he observes, he instructs his angels to take notes in a giant ledger.
"Armstrong, Beth, son. Patron Saint, Matthew.
Forrest, Marjorie, daughter. Patron Saint, Celia. Rutledge, Carrie, twins.
Patron Saint. . .give her Gerard. He's used to profanity."
Finally, he passes a name to an angel and smiles. "Give her a preemie."
The angel is curious. "Why this one, God? She's so happy."
"Exactly," smiles God. "Could I give a premature baby a mother who
knows no laughter? That would be cruel."
"But does she have the patience?" asks the angel.
"I don't want her to have too much patience, or she'll drown
in a sea of self-pity and despair.
Once the shock and resentment wear off she'll handle it.
"I watched her today. She has that sense of self and independence
so rare and so necessary in a mother.
You see, the child I'm going to give her has a world of its own.
She has to make it live in her world, and that's not going to be easy."
"But Lord, I don't think she even believes in you."
God smiles.

Happy 1 Week Birthday!

Well Keira's one week old today! We're so blessed to have her here and healthy for one week now! She was on a ventilator and she got off of it by day three. She also started taking my milk through a tube at 1 cc every 3 hours and she's now at 9 cc every three hours! She's doing very good for a preemie and she is a "happy baby" I've been told! She also has a lot of her father's mannerisms. She sleeps just like him! Arms up by the head and one leg folded up! She has a head full of jet black hair and is light skin. Her eyes look dark brown but can't really tell because she's always sleeping lol. The Nurse Practitioner also told me she may start drinking from the breast next week! That's all I got for now! Keira Early Appearance

Well according to my doctor my ticker is wrong. I am supposed to be due on October 24 because baby was measuring small. As some of you may know I was on bedrest because my cervix was 1 cm dilated. On Tuesday, August 11 I was doing my fetal counts and noticed the baby wasn't moving as much around 6 pm. I didn't pay much attention to it as I figured she was probably asleep. I went to be and around 12 am I realized that I still didn't feel her kick. So I panicked and cried because I didn't pay more attention to it and 6 hours had already passed! So I pulled out my Motherhood doppler (cheap) and tried to hear something (anything) for about 20 minutes. Finally I heard her heartbeat and felt her kick. Just one measly kick. I told DH and he said that she was probably just sleeping. I stayed up most of the night and probably slept 2 hours because she still wasn't kicking as hard as she usually does. I had an appointment at 2:15 pm that day so I figured I would just go in earlier. When DH's alarm went off for him to go to work I told him that I wanted to go to the ER. I told him that I was really worried. I then started feeling cramps in my lower back. I called the on-call doctor to tell him about her lack of movement and added the back pain as incentive so he could take it more seriously. He told me to go to L&D. I was surprised. I thought he would at least tell me to wait until 8:00 am to see the doctor. So we got ready and got to L&D by 9:30 am since that hospital was farther than the local hospital. My cramps had subsided so we didn't think anything of it. I went to triage and they were listening to baby's heartbeat. I was relieved to hear that it was strong. Then my back cramp started up again. While the nurse was gone DH counted (w/o telling me) and after 20 minutes he said "Babe, I think you're having contractions, they're 5 min. apart" Of course I didn't believe him because they just felt like strong period cramps. The nurse came in and I joked about what he said. She got serious and said actually he's wrong, you're contractions are 2 1/2 minutes apart!!! She called in the doctor and he came and checked me. He then told me that I was 4 cm dilated!!! I was then admitted and brought to the L&D room. The doctor came back and said that the baby is breeched (which I already knew) and he doesn't see me lasting more than 3 days before giving birth. So I started crying. At this point I was 29 weeks and 4 days. They gave me magnesium to stop the contractions. I then noticed around 6 pm that evening that I still wasn't feeling baby move as she used to even though her heartbeat was strong. When the doctor came in he did an ultrasound on me because of the movement concerns. He agreed that she wasn't moving as she should and even used some kind of zapper buzzer thing to zap my tummy. It was safe but it is used to annoy the baby. He then counted her kicks for 10 minutes and it satisfied his count. I went back to L&D and around 2:30 am I told the nurse that I started feeling contractions again and I was also feeling a burning pressure in my vagina. She called my doctor and then came in and said that I would be having a c-section that night!!! She said that the doctor who did my ultrasound said if I complained about anything else to order the c-section. I started crying because I wasn't sure if I was making up the pain I was feeling or what! I didn't want the baby to come out yet! DH was happy and ready though. DH and the doctor came in and convinced me that this was best. They even had a NICU doctor come in to assure me that she's at the age of a higher survival rate. So they brought me to the OR, put the epidural in (which hurt like hell! cuz I had no contractions to focus on at that point), and cut me open. Since I had gone almost 48 hours with no sleep I started falling asleep! DH had to keep squeezing my hand to wake me! Finally he says "she's out! she's light and has dark hair!" lol. I fall asleep again and is woken by the doctor/nurse (not sure) holding her next to my head. I looked at her and swore I was looking at a doll! Then they took her to the NICU. I went to the recovery room and slept. I didn't get to see her until the next day because I had to make sure the magnesium was out my system and they had to removed the catheter that they had put in me. Anyway, Keira is doing fine. Docs say she is big for a 29 weeker. She weighed in at 2 lbs 13 oz and 15 inches. She had some jaundice and they had her under the blue light. They also said she had an infection. Strep B which is a form of meningitis so they are saying that her coming out early was best because they caught this infection. They told me that she should be coming out in 4-6 weeks. As of today they removed her oxygen because she can breath on her own. She is also feisty! She pulls on the cords and doesn't like when people touch her lol. She only likes to be held and cuddled.

Week 29 Update

Okay so yesterday I had a sonogram appointment and I got to see baby girl. She's still breech and she even has one arm up by her head. Well she's been poking me with that arm in my ribs all day! The doctor says she's 2 pounds and 10 ounces. He also said that my cervix is still open but that it got longer. My friend broke it down for me because I didn't understand. You know the part in a balloon you blow into? That is like the cervix. Its open (enough to blow into) but its long like when the balloon is deflated. As you inflate the balloon it gets shorter. Got it? Anyway the Doc also wants to change my due date to the 24th of October. Remember in the beginning of my pregnancy I said I would keep the 21st in mind? Well the 21st is right in between my original due date of the 18th and my new due date of the 24th, so right now I'm 29 weeks. Doc said I may be able to go back to work at 32 weeks. I sure hope so! If baby goes to full term then I can work 8 weeks (2 months) before I give birth! That's 3 more weeks! I also learned of some tricks to get the baby to flip from the breeched position! Putting a cold pack on her head, laying with my feet propped up real high, pointing a flashlight on my lower belly, and cart wheels! I'll probably try those out around week 32! I have a friend that did cart wheels for a week straight and her baby flipped! So we'll see how stubborn Keira is in a few weeks!

Last Night

So before I tell you what happened last night I saw the doctor on Wednesday and she told me that I'm 1 centimeters dilated and she felt baby parts!! Since she was breech she either felt little feet, little toes, or a little booty!

Anyway last night I suddenly had a very strong sore pain at the bottom of my uterus near my pelvic area. It wasn't a sharp pain but an annoying sore feeling. It went on for the whole night but more on my right side as my upper right thigh was also hurting. This went on all night and I had a hard time sleeping. Then when it was time for Kimani to go to work I woke up and realized the pain went away. Then I noticed that I didn't feel her move. I started gently shaking my belly to see if I could wake her. No movement. I was so worried. I went and told Kimani and he said that she's probably sleeping. So I went back in the room and lied on my left side (the recommended side) and after 5 minutes I felt a soft kick. Then 2 minutes later I felt her turn and rotate. Kimani came in the room and I told him. He rolled his eyes and said I told you. She's not going to come this whole way and give up on us. Her mom and dad are strong so she will be stronger. :) I told him that I still had to worry. That's my nature! He said he knew. Then he left a she gave me a hard swift kick to my bladder! Ouch! As if to say "you better not doubt me mom!"

Keira's Movements

Well I have an appointment on Wednesday and because she's been measuring smaller than she's supposed to I get to have more sonograms than usual! At least I get to see her more. Anyway, baby girl moves more and more daily. She even does this thing with her hands or feet that tickle me! I feel it real low like right at my pelvis. She also kicks and punches my bladder or cervix and that REALLY hurts! She likes to move early in the morning and in the evening time around 6-8. Sometimes her dad talks to her and she'll stop kicking... so cute... Well just wanted to update you with what my baby girl is doing so far! I will now post pictures of Kimani (DH) setting up and fixing Keira's furniture. It took a total of 3 1/2 days to complete but we did it! Kimani did most of the work but I helped read the instructions! The best part was when we made her letters. We purchased plain white wood blocks and got creative! We painted, glittered, and foamed the letters in different shades of purple!

Waving The White Flag!!

Please don't be mad at me ya'll! I know I've been MIA and I really don't have an excuse for it. I have so much to tell you guys about that I will have to break it up in different posts. This post will be a what's going on post. I'm 28 weeks and 1 day!!! Woot! I'm officially 7 months pregnant with only two more months to go! Time is flying by but still going slow... As of last week Thursday I've been put on bed rest until the birth of the baby! That means that I'm laying up in my bed or couch until October! The reason they put me on bed rest is because the doctor discovered that my cervix is opened. They can't sew it up because I'm too far along in the pregnancy and it can cause an infection to the baby. If for some reason the baby is born today, she will be fine but will need a lot of medical attention as preemies do. We're hoping that she can wait until I'm 34 to 35 weeks at least. That's 6 weeks. I'm upset that I had to leave work earlier than I would have with a normal pregnancy. There's a lot that needs to be done and I feel like I'm leaving work in a bad situation. My boss is still on maternity leave so she would be the only one on top of what's going on. I guess they'll survive. Being put on bed rest made me realize how much we give up for our children before they even realize it...

6 Months Down...

So Keira really really loves to kick! I can just imagine her lying in her crib kicking her legs as if she were riding a bike. Oh how I can't wait to meet her! Tomorrow I'll be 23 weeks and that's officially 6 months in my pregnancy book. She loves to kick when I'm quiet but as soon as I start talking she stops. My dad says she's just checking to see if I'm alive lol. Now do you see where I get my imagination from? So since I got preggers I've only gained 4 pounds. I'm a little worried because I'm "supposed" to be packing on the pounds but it seems as if my metabolism is up while my appetite is down. A couple of bites of food and I'm done! Oh well, I guess I shouldn't be complaining. Also I bought some clothes from Carter's. Its a great store and I'm in love! They have such cute clothes and even a $5 sales rack! I could go crazy in there! Oh by the way...I've succumbed to the pink! Gasp!

Baby Ballerina

So I'm sitting here at my desk and Keira is jumping and kicking. I look at my belly and I see it jump with every kick she makes. Everytime I think of her I think of a ballerina! Dancing and jumping! Maybe that's what her bedroom theme should be... I don't know. Anyway, I have a doctor's appointment today with my original doctor (the one who's moving) for the LAST time before he leaves! I'll miss him, he was so nice and gentle.
Oh before I go, yesterday Keira was kicking up a storm! So much that she would distract me and she was kicking my bladder. I didn't want to use the bathroom just yet but with her kicking like that I knew I would have to soon enough. So it was real quiet and she was rapidly kicking then all of a sudden I said outloud "Keira stop kicking mommy's bladder!" I kid you not, she stopped! lol. It was too funny, Keira got scolded for her first time!

21 week update

It has been almost 3 weeks since I last wrote to you guys! I'm sorry for the late update. I've been busy...sleeping lol. Really I haven't been up to anything. Last Sunday on my 21st week I did have some back pain. The on-call doctor wanted me to come into the hospital I would be delivering at "just in case." So you know I started crying! Well DH and I went to Labor and Delivery and while we waited for the doctor the nurse let me hear the baby's heartbeat. She kept kicking like crazy! She loves attention! By the way the baby's name is Keira Lynn. Not sure if I told you. Anyway, the doctor said I had a UTI/bladder infection and gave me a prescription. Its been 5 days so far and I'm doing great! Right now we're making some baby shower plans and next week we will be looking for invitations. Oh yea. We also went cake testing... Well I'll try to keep you guys updated! Later!

Single and Pregnant

Well as you already know I'm married BUT as I get further along my fingers have gotten fatter and my skin dryer which makes wearing my wedding rings uncomfortable. I stopped wearing my engagement ring a couple of months ago but unless I want to lather up soap or lotion to put my band on its not going to happen. Well as I walk around with a protruding belly I get a lot of looks from older woman and I can just imagine them thinking "Humph! Another black pregnant single girl!" I shouldn't worry or care what people think but it bothers me! But it kinda does! I mean DH and I have been married for 5 years because we wanted to be ready. When people (including parents!) pressured and asked us why we weren't with child we knew we wanted to BOTH be ready in all aspects. I feel proud that we waited and God blessed us when He saw fit so maybe I want to share that with the passerby in the street and a ring does so in a way with no words. Oh well, I got two options. Wait till baby is born or wear cz's lol. I'm seriously considering the latter! My rings are gold so maybe I'll wear silver (platinum) for the next 4 months lol.

So my doctor told me that I'm not allowed to have sex until ny next appointment which is a month away!! Well 3 weeks now :( I'm so depressed! Finally when we can have unprotected sex I'm prohibited!! This little girl is ruining our sex life already! We joked about how she won't let me no where near DH as she will be the new most important female in the house! Well! She's started in the womb!

On another note, I found out I have a bladder infection, so its not just the baby that increases the bathroom trips! So I've been taking pills for that for the next 7 days. It has reduced my trips to the bathroom so I'm happy about that! Well I'm 18 weeks tomorrow so... Only 4 months and 2 weeks to go!

LoL, before I tell you what it is I'm going to make you sweat lol... Don't cheat and scroll down!!! So... we went to the sonogram place and requested a regular 2d black and white gender sonogram. Since I'm only 17 weeks I didn't want to pay extra when the baby wasn't fat yet! So the the lady was looking at the baby and her head is buried in my back and resting on my bladder!!! Hence me using the bathroom so much! So we were in there for about 30 minutes and BOY was this baby stubborn!!! It would kick but wouldn't separate it's thighs!!! I was almost about to lose hope and give up when the tech said Oh!!! I see it! And froze the frame! She said..."Are you ready????" DH and I both said yes and she wrote on the screen::::::

GIRL!!!!

LOL, so of course, I screamed because I was expecting her to say it was a boy!!! But we are both so incredibly happy!!! We can't wait to go shopping!

So I started sending out Save the Date invites to my family and friends because since it is a summer shower, people will be making vacation plans. The Godparents will send out the official invites later. I have 8 different kinds of cards that I bought from Micheal's Arts & Crafts. Below is a picture of how some of them look:

Micheal's Art & Crafts is a GREAT store!!! I spend $10.00 on the invites (50 of them), $3.00 on the foot/hand print stickers, and $7.00 the inside label (from Staples. So I got my Save the Date invites for $20!! What's better than that!! lol. As you can see, I'm super excited. There's nothing more important to me than being a mom and I want to make sure I'm as involved as possible!

Another Scare!!!

I'm sorry I haven't been on for so long. I've been too sleepy to type lol. So let me tell you how my week has gone so far!

So on Tuesday evening, I went home from work and noticed I was spotting bright red blood!!! I called the on-call doctor and she said for me to lie down with my feet up and to come into the office in the morning. She didn't want me to go to the ER because of the stress they may put me through (she was a woman who seemed sensitive to my feelings.) Anyway, I call out sick and I went to the doctor yesterday morning and the doctor (another female) said the bleeding could be from my cervix, placenta, or baby! So the doctor did a quick exam and said my cervix was good. Then she tried to use the Doppler and couldn't find the heart beat so she did a sono. We saw the baby and the heart was beating. The baby even did a little dance for us LOL. He shook one leg, then another, then his arms!! So then we went to get a real sonogram with a tech and they said that I have a low line placenta and that may block the baby during delivery. I have another appt with the doctor tomorrow and he'll tell me more about this. I looked it up and basically it's something that could correct itself but if it doesn't then I would have to have a c-section because it could come out first during deliver (bad) or it could block the baby's way out (also bad!) Also the tech said the baby may be a boy!! Which is why I keep saying "he." But she won't confirm until my next appt. AND best of all, I stopped bleeding!! They did say if I started bleeding then I got to be on bedrest until it stops. I had a mental talk with the baby and God and said the more time I take off now, the less time I'll have with the baby. They both listened!

I will update you guys with my follow-up appointment which is today.

WTF Is That Smell????

Okay so I don't know if it's because I'm constantly in my bathroom peeing but it stinks!!! It's been stinky since about 4-6 weeks now. I mean we clean it EVERY weekend. One day I couldn't wait till the weekend and I cleaned the toilet bowl, mopped the floor, cleaned the sink, the tub, the rugs, and changed the shower curtain. It smelled real clean for about 10 minutes. Then the smell came back!!!! I asked DH to smell it bathroom and he says I'm crazy!! :( I have to keep the door shut when I walk by cuz I feel like throwing up :( Am I crazy!??

On a lighter note... I'm 14 weeks and a day today!!!

I'm Going To Kill DH!!!! - Vent!!!

Okay so on top of waking up 2-3 times a night, my upstairs neighbors have two pit bulls in their apartment WHICH IS AGAINST THEIR LEASE! (only one dog under 35 lbs is allowed). So every morning at 4 am when whoever wakes up, the dogs wake up and start running around and this sounds like loud ass horses galloping above me. Mind you, I wake up at 5:50 am. SO this morning was no different except ALL night DH kept coming right by my ear and start SNORING!!!!!! I keep pushing him away and turning him so his back is facing me but he ALWAYS turns back! So now it's 5:00 am and DH turns to me for the 5th time that night!. I softly tell him to turn away. He snores louder and doesn't hear me. (he's a VERY heavy sleeper). So I push and shove him until he turns on his stomach and faces away from me. But now he's ALL up on my side of the bed! So I push his butt with my hands and he pushes me back and digs his fingers into my butt!!!! So I scream and say stop! He says you pushed me first!!! Then he falls back asleep while I'm rubbing my tush and he FARTS IN HIS SLEEP!!!!! Mind you he does this UNDER the effing blanket so it creeps up to my nose while I'm FINALLY falling asleep at 5:15 am!!!! So I scream again and say "YOU STINK YOU SMELLY EFFING JERK!!!" He moves a little and GOES BACK TO SLEEP!! So now I'm lying there and I can't fall asleep until the smell goes away. The dogs finally stop running around and it's 5:35 am... I finally feel sleepy at 5:47 am... and the alarm goes off 3 minutes later...

Doctor's Appointment

I have good news and bad news... well for me anyway... Good news first!

So I had my doctor's appointment yesterday and I wasn't sure if I would be able to use the Doppler being that I'm on the plus size side. I've heard that if you're heavier the Doppler may not hear the heartbeat BUT... it did! The heartbeat was 152 beats per minute! Old Wives Tale says that if the heart beat is over 140 it's a girl and if it's under it's a boy. I didn't gain or lose any weight and I'm not at risk for diabetes or high blood pressure. Pregnancy is normal and great for now!

Now on to the bad news...

I asked my doctor if he would be the person to deliver me and he said no! I'm like "What! Why!! How do you know?" He said he was going to tell me but he will be moving to the west coast soon. Something about how his wife got a great job and he's leaving but he doesn't really want to. I'm so disappointed! He said my doctor would be from the same clinic and SHE's a great doctor. SHE!!!! I have had horrible (well not horrible) experiences with female gyn's. The ones I've come across have been so blunt and insensitive! It feels like they think that since have a hoo ha also we have to get over it! They are just so rough in my vagi region and they don't announce when they're about to do before they do it like the men! Well I'll give this new doctor a chance but as SOON as I'm uncomfortable with her I'm going to have to try someone else out!

Anyway, that's all that happened yesterday. Hopefully by the next appointment I'll find out the sex of the baby!

So I finally made it to the second trimester!!!! I felt the baby do a 360 again today. He/she is also happy! lol. It was in the same exact location as last time. I have my doctor's appointment tomorrow so I'll ask him about it. I really don't have much to say except I'm super excited and I'll be seeing my doctor tomorrow at 3:00 pm!

Oh yeah, DH keeps rubbing my bump... feels nice for him to rub my belly and there's actually something there except fat lmao!

Last Day of First Trimester

**TMI Alert!**

So I get up from bed for my millionth time to use the bathroom this morning and I get ready to go back to sleep. As I'm lying down I feel my hunger knocking on the door but going back to sleep felt so much better. I'm so hungry I can't fall asleep so I get up to reheat my dinner from last night. As I'm pressing the buttons on the microwave I feel the urge to throw up. The nearest thing to me was the trash can. I then ran to the bathroom and finished off in the sink. The vomit was yellow which scared the shit out of me. DH hears me and sees me throwing up. He rubs my back while I cry from the pain of my stomach contracting itself. He tells me I'm throwing up bile because I haven't eaten. Finally I stop and get something to eat. I'm feeling better again. Next time I'm hungry I'll make sure to eat right away! Funny how the first time I throw up was on the last day of my first trimester!

Baby Names

So right now we are set on a boy's name. If the baby is a boy he will be names Kaden (Kayden?) Alexander. If it's a girl we're still deceiding on Khloe, Kylee (Kylie?), and Kaylee (Kayleigh, Kaylie?). If you have any suggestions let me know. The first name HAS to begin with a K and the middle name HAS to begin with an A. Sometimes I wish it's a boy to make it easier! But girl clothes are soooo much cuter!!!!

My First Bump!

12 Weeks

Well I've got one more week to go before I'm officially in my second trimester. My next doctor's appointment is on the 14th so I'm excited about that. Hopefully the Dr can hear the heartbeat on the doppler. The last 3 weeks have gone by pretty quickly. Time moved very slow from 4 weeks to 9 weeks but since 9 weeks it's flew by! We've settled on a boy's name but still stuck on a girl's name. DH and I have been to a couple of children stores and I've noticed how biased the selections of clothes are between boys and girls! At almost every store 75% of the store is dedicated to girl clothes while the boys have 25%. Girls can wear so many different variety of clothes while for boys its limited to shirts, shorts, and pants. I'm still secretly hoping for a girl but I really don't care. As long as the baby is healthy I'm happy. Also, DH has been talking a lot about the baby lately. He's super excited!

I Felt The Baby Move!

So I'm sitting here at work and all of a sudden I feel something! It's in my lower right pelvic area. Not a kick of course but it feels like the baby rolled around or something! A lot of you ladies have been feeling something down there so I googled and I found something that said you can feel a flutter as early as 10-12 weeks and you can feel kicks as early as 16-18 weeks and DH (or anyone) can feel kicks from the outside as early as 18 weeks and on. So I KNOW this wasn't gas because I've had gas a lot in the last couple of weeks and if feels like a rumble, this thing I felt just now feels like a roll over! lol. Hard to explain but amazing!!!

Random Update...

So I'm sitting here at the barber shop with DH while he gets his hair cut. Today is one of the worst days so far. I woke up hungry so I ate soup. After I ate the soup I realized some cereal would have been good enough so now I'm stuffed. As I'm watching the baby network I start to fall asleep so I go and take a nap until afternoon. When I wake up the second time I'm hot and I feel stuffed still so I'm cranky. I take a shower and drive DH to the barber and get me an apple pie because I was hungry but wanted something sweet. Now I'm here waiting for DH to be done so I can go home and perm (relax) my hair. Then I will snuggle under the covers and watch my wedding and baby channel until Desperate Housewives come on. Still feel stuffed. I think I'm constipated :(

*Update*

The doctor has changed my due date to Oct 18 and its because he's using the 28 day cycle. Even though I'm a 31 day cycle. That makes me nine weeks today. My embryo has officially graduated to an fetus!!! Yay!!

First (Official) Ultrasound New Due Date!

Okay, so this story is a little bit crazy. I had a sonogram appointment this afternoon and I was told by the technition to drink 24 ounces of water an hour before my appointment and to hold my urine! This is so they don't mistake my bladder for my uterus because it looks the same while the bladder is empty. So I drink about 17 ounces of water and on my way to the clinic I feel the urge to go! I ignore it thinking I'm just feeling this way because I know I can't go so maybe it's because I want to. WELL! After about 20 minutes of driving I realize that I REALLY have to go and I'm on the verge of tears. I contemplate driving to the side of the road and using the bathroom on the street but DH stops me! (DH=Dear Husband) I finally get home (because my house was 5 minutes away from the clinic and I couldn't wait!) and I decided to just pee a little until I'm comfortable. Well then I notice that I'm bleeding... again!! I'm thinking, It's because of this stupid urine thing!! I get back in the car and drink some more water because I didn't want to deal with drinking a whole 24 ounces again.

When I get to the clinic they try to perform the sonogram on my belly and realize they can't find the baby so they say "Go pee the water out and we will do the ultrasound vaginally." WHAT!!! So I did all of this for nothing!!! I go and use the bathroom again and notice I'm still bleeding! More spotting but bright red :: I then lay and the tech performs the sonogram. She shows my a picture of a little buger and says, "That's your baby!" THAT little itty bitty thing is my child!! I smile... Then She shows me another picture and I say, "Is that the baby?" She says, no that's the yolk, this tiny part here is the baby! I'm floored! She then lets me hear the heart beat... The most beautiful sound I've ever heard in my life... It was going so fast! She said it was 124 beats per minute... I shed a tear of happiness while DH sits and looks amazed. She stepped out and we look at each other smiling.

The tech comes back in and says I am 6 weeks and 6 days. My due date is October 24, 2009. My little Scorpio... I will post the picture of my blueberry (that's it's size this week) later on.

Blood Results and Small Scare

So I called the doctor's office and they told me that my HCG levels were 6000!!! YAY that's awesome! Then they said that my progesterone level is 9.64 and it should be at least at 16. So! I started out with the waterworks! The doctor prescribed me Prometrics suppositories that I put in the baby maker twice a day. After I cried and researched about it I realized it's a good thing that they caught it NOW instead of later when it probably would have been a problem!

Well as some of you may know, today is my first doctor's appointment. I'm so excited and scared! Like I said before, I don't feel preggers all the time so I'm very paranoid. I'm still 5 weeks so it may be too early for a ultrasound but I guess that depends on the results of the blood test. If it's high enough (or too high ) then he will have me do one.

On another note, Hubby and I bought an SUV today!!! We're sooo happy. It's our first step in becoming parents. It's a 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca. I will post a picture later but for now you can google it... We will start driving it tonight! OMG I'm so happy. I just want to run out and buy baby furniture now lol. I'm too silly. Well I'll be back later after my 3:00 pm sonogram and picking up my vehicle at 5:00 pm!

So I wasn't able to have the sonogram today :(. I had to make an appointment for Monday, March 2nd. The doctor did do a pap smear and told me that my uterus is growing so that's good. I will get the blood results tomorrow!

Oh the Gas!

All weekend long I've been having awful gas! I first I burped and blamed it on the baby as a joke, but now I've come to realize it IS the baby! Gosh, if I'm not burping I'm farting, if I'm not farting, the gas is in my body and causes me tremendous amounts of pain! It's to a point where if I breath too deep it hurts. DH tells me to take a sharp deep breath to cure it... tried it! AND CURSED HIM TO HELL!! I took some Lipton tea last night and it went away and helped me through the night. Now it's back so I called my doctor and asked for permission to take GAS-X. I usually take the chewy kind but my coworker bought me the pill instead. I just took it 10 minutes ago... if it doesn't work I'll have to buy the chewy kind. Oh the joys!

Can I Get Any Sleepier???

Are you serious? Like everyday after 2:00 pm my body is like... time for a nap! NOOOO I can't do that! I'm at work! But does my body listen? Nope! I find myself sleepy when I'm leaving to go to work (as in driving home!!). When I get home... forget about it! If I don't take a nap then I pass out! There's no fighting it. It's not even a 15 minute nap either, it's a two hour, wake me when Heroes come on or dinner is ready kind of nap... You would think I have a problem going to bed at night? NOPE! The bed is my best friend!

Scared of Miscarriage!

Okay I don't know what's wrong with me! I'm at work and I just went to the dollar store to buy 7 more pregnancy tests! I don't have any symptoms except for fatigue and frequent urination but I don't feel like that's enough for me! I took a test and of course it said positive. God... Tuesday can't come fast enough. I don't have a history of miscarriage and this is my first child. I think I'm just afraid to be blessed. Is that possible?

I'm Pregnant!!!

So I woke up this morning feeling a bit nauseous. I thought to myself... I'm about 4 days late and even though I'm irregular the past two months have been exact! Well I took a test using the LAST First Response I had not expecting much. I didn't even expect it to work because I guessed how long I was supposed to keep it in the pee cup (I threw away the instructions!) Well, I put it down and proceeded to wipe. As I looked up I saw a second line!!! OMFG!!! Okay I closed my eyes and finished what I was doing and got up. The line was not even a squint your eyes and make a wish and look under a bright light faint line. It was pronouced!!!! My hands started shaking and I ran into the bedroom to tell hubby. I started crying so I got my Blackberry to record the announcement but I was soo hysterical he had to guess it. lol. Well needless to say, we found out and we're both so happy. My estimated due date is October 21st and my first Sonogram is February 24th. So happy yet so scared!
